Steven C. Gross, MD

Dr. Gross, originally from Des Moines, Iowa, earned his undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University and medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.  He completed both his surgical residency and a two-year postgraduate research fellowship at The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center while at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

Dr. Gross finished fellowships in Esophageal and Minimally Invasive Surgery in Portland, Oregon, as well as research on Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES) with USGI Medical.  Following a year of private practice in Asheville, NC, Dr. Gross joined Central Carolina Surgery in 2007.  He practices a broad range of general surgery with a particular interest in advanced minimally invasive and endoscopic approaches to diseases of the abdomen such as heartburn/reflux, hiatal hernias, achalasia, colon and rectal disease, hernias, transanal endoscopic microsurgery, and more.
