Dr. Ballen was born in Jamaica West Indies and immigrated to the USA in 1958. He was naturalized as a United States citizen in 1977. Dr. Ballen completed his surgery training at Cornell Medical Center in New York before starting a practice in Greensboro in 1979. He practiced with Dr. Roy Arkin until joining CCS in 2004.
Dr. Ballen currently plans to retire on December 31, 2009.
