Matthew K. Tsuei, MD, FACS

Dr. Matthew Tsuei was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, but grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He attended medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and also completed his surgical residency training at Wake Forest.  After residency, he spent four years in the United States Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base, with several overseas deployments to Africa, Germany and Iraq.  He served as an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and was on the clinical faculty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  Upon leaving the military, he spent a year in private practice in Hendersonville, NC, before joining Central Carolina Surgery in 2006. 

Dr. Tsuei’s clinical interests include a broad range of general surgery with particular interest in minimally invasive anti-reflux and colon surgery, abdominal wall hernias, and gastrointestinal malignancies.  He also serves on the Trauma Physician Panel, providing coverage for the Level II trauma center at Moses Cone.  He currently serves as the vice-president of Central Carolina Surgery, PA.
