Matthew B. Martin, MD, FACS

Originally from Baytown, Texas, Dr. Martin received his BA from Rice University and his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. His internship and residency were completed at the Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem and included a clinical research fellowship. He joined Drs. Farley, Abrams, and Streck in Greensboro in 1985. In 1995 their practice became Triad Surgical Specialists which merged with Greensboro Surgical Associates in 1999 to become Central Carolina Surgery, P.A.


Dr. Martin's practice includes the range of general surgery and cancer surgery. He performs laparoscopic bariatric surgery (Lap Bands and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery) and his area of special interest is advanced videoscopic surgery of the GI tract including laparoscopic colon resections and hiatal hernia reconstructions.  He is a member of numerous surgical associations and currently serves as a Governor at Large for the American College of Surgeons.
