Dr. Hoxworth was born and grew up in Cincinnati, graduated from Miami of Ohio and then received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. He completed both his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University, as well as a fellowship in nutrition and metabolism. In 1987, he joined Dr. William Weatherly's practice here in Greensboro. In 1995 he became a member of Triad Surgical Specialists which subsequently merged to form Central Carolina Surgery, PA in 1999. Dr. Hoxworth enjoys a broad range of general surgery with particular interests in laparoscopic intestinal surgery and breast cancer, and is one of the four members of the bariatric team. He has also served as president of the medical staff of Moses Cone Health System.
